Affiliate links
Some retailer buttons in equipment and product reference areas, including the Equipment Guide and Aquarium Builder, are affiliate links. If you click one and make a purchase, Fishician may earn a commission from that retailer. Fishician does not add a charge for using an affiliate link. Retailers set their own prices, promotions, availability, and purchase terms.
Product areas label these links with a nearby notice such as "Paid/affiliate links", "paid link", or "affiliate link". The disclosure appears before or beside the relevant retailer links so it is visible before a purchasing decision.
In line with the U.S. Federal Trade Commission's Guides Concerning the Use of Endorsements and Testimonials (16 CFR Part 255), we disclose this relationship here and next to product links in the app.
Following a retailer link does not automatically send your Fishician account records, tank history, private messages, or Finn conversations to the retailer. A link may contain affiliate or referral parameters. The retailer or affiliate network may receive ordinary web information, such as your IP address, browser information, and the referring site's origin, and may use cookies or similar technologies under its own policies. Fishician's privacy choices do not control those external sites; review their privacy and cookie policies before shopping.
How product links are presented
Some public reference images load directly from Wikipedia/Wikimedia or another permitted external image host. Loading an external image contacts its host even if you have not clicked a retailer or other external link. The host receives ordinary request information, including your IP address, browser/user-agent information, and any referrer permitted by browser and page policy. These image requests are separate from optional Fishician product analytics and retailer-link navigation. First-party mirrored catalog images are served through Fishician.
Retailer links are catalog references, not endorsements or verified fit determinations. Before purchasing, confirm the exact model number, dimensions, electrical requirements, capacity, and installation instructions in current manufacturer documentation. Affiliate status does not determine Fishician's care guidance, label-ratio math, or compatibility screening. We do not accept payment for placement in care guidance.
Advertising
Advertising code is disabled in this release, including public guide articles and all application screens. Fishician does not load third-party advertising scripts or display programmatic ads. Accepting optional product analytics does not enable advertising. If Fishician introduces advertising, we will update this disclosure and provide the choices required for that processing before enabling it.
Affiliate retailer links remain separate from advertising and are disclosed before or beside the relevant links. Equipment listings and retailer offers remain catalog references; editorial guides and care conclusions retain the separation described above.
No sponsorship of advice
AI-assisted health assessments, compatibility checks, and care guidance are independent of advertisers and affiliates. When a reference lists a purchasable product, any affiliate relationship is disclosed alongside the link.
