About Fishician

Fishician brings aquarium planning, record keeping, educational references, community, and AI-assisted tools into one platform with free features and paid plans.

What Fishician is for

Fishician helps aquarium keepers make fewer decisions from memory or guesswork. Users can plan a tank, track livestock and water tests, organize maintenance, compare possible stocking conflicts, explore educational guides, and keep their aquarium history together.

The public educational library and private application serve different purposes. Editorial guides are durable, source-linked content. Species catalog records support planning tools but are not represented as finished articles until they pass the editorial requirements. Community posts are user-generated. AI outputs can be wrong and must not be confused with verified reference content or veterinary diagnosis.

Who makes Fishician

Fishician is an independent, self-funded project rather than a retailer's marketing site or a content network. Editorial guides are written and maintained in-house against published sources, and they are versioned in source control alongside the application, so a correction is a deployment with automated checks rather than an untracked edit. Each guide carries its own publication and update date, and those dates are generated from the same record that produces the sitemap, to keep the page and sitemap dates consistent.

The house style is deliberately restrictive. Fishician does not publish universal timers, water-change percentages, feeding portions, or dosing schedules, because those numbers depend on species, life stage, system, equipment, and product formulation in ways a general article cannot resolve. Where sources disagree, the more cautious position is published while the difference is investigated. Automated checks catch specified errors and regressions. They cannot establish that a claim is true; source review and corrections are still necessary.

How Fishician is supported

Fishician offers a free plan and paid subscriptions for additional capabilities. The available features and billing cadence are shown before checkout. Fishician also uses affiliate referrals and may earn a commission when a user buys from a participating retailer, at no additional cost to the user. Affiliate status does not control compatibility results or care guidance. Advertising code is disabled in this release, including public guide articles and all application screens. Accepting optional product analytics does not enable advertising. Affiliate retailer links remain separate and are disclosed beside the relevant links. See the advertising and affiliate disclosure and the privacy policy for the current release's choices and data handling.

Limits and responsibility

Fishician is not an aquarium retailer, veterinary practice, laboratory, or emergency service. Educational information cannot account for every animal, product formulation, source-water condition, or local law. Serious, urgent, persistent, or uncertain animal-health concerns should be reviewed by a qualified aquatic veterinarian or aquatic animal health professional.

What you will find here

The public side of Fishician is a source-linked aquarium guide library covering setup and cycling, water chemistry and testing, filtration, aeration and dissolved oxygen, source water, lighting, substrate and hardscape, water changes and maintenance, algae and cloudy water, stocking and compatibility, acclimation and quarantine, behaviour and early illness signs, feeding, temperature, planted and reef fundamentals, equipment failure, and moving a system. Each guide covers a defined task and links to references with descriptions of their scope. A reference list alone does not establish the accuracy of every sentence.

The application includes a useful free plan. It records aquariums, livestock, equipment, and water-test history; organizes maintenance; compares possible stocking conflicts; and provides calculators that work from measurements the user enters. A free account adds cloud sync and community access. Nothing in the application is advertising-supported.

Corrections and questions

Report a factual issue, broken source, accessibility barrier, safety concern, or product problem through the contact and corrections page. Substantive corrections are deployed through source control with automated checks. Fishician would rather correct a published statement than defend it, and a correction that includes the page URL, the disputed sentence, and a reliable source is the fastest route to a change.
